Temporary protected status (TPS) is a temporary non-immigrant benefit for certain nationals of certain foreign countries designated by the Attorney General.
TPS is a status that has been in flux in recent months. As of the date of this writing, the countries whose foreign nationals may be granted TPS are:
- Afghanistan
- Burma (Myanmar)
- Cameroon
- El Salvador
- Ethiopia
- Haiti
- Honduras
- Nepal
- Nicaragua
- Somalia
- South Sudan
- Sudan
- Syria
- Ukraine
- Venezuela
- Yemen
