Nelisde Ruiz

Nelisde Ruiz is a dedicated Legal Assistant supporting the MERITS team at our firm.

Born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, Nelisde brings a compassionate spirit, bilingual

communication skills, and a strong commitment to helping clients feel supported

throughout their immigration journey.

As one of the first points of contact before our clients hearings, Nelisde understands the

importance of making each person feel heard, informed, and cared for. She stays by

their side throughout the duration of their case and beyond, providing support and

helping clients navigate the process with confidence. Her ability to communicate fluently

in both English and Spanish allows her to connect with clients and families from a wide

range of backgrounds.

Nelisde holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from La Salle University.

Her professional experience includes working with immigration law firms and in social

work in Mexico, experiences that helped shape her passion for serving others. While in

college, she also dedicated her time to volunteering at assisted living homes and with

children and adults with disabilities.

Outside of work, Nelisde enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Pedro, and visiting

her family in Mexico. She loves discovering new foods from around the world and

enjoys finding new music to listen to while she relaxes. She and her husband also share

a love for watching ’90s and early-2000s movies, making movie nights a favorite way to

unwind. However, when it comes to food, Nelisde has a clear favorite: chilaquiles

verdes!



With her professional experience, cultural connection, and genuine desire to help
