Personal Experience
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Alysson Valverde resided in several places throughout her life
including Wilmington and Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as Ecuador. Her upbringing shaped a deep appreciation for different cultures and communities. Now based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Alysson brings both personal experience and professional dedication to her work every day.
Alysson is driven by a strong personal connection to the immigrant community, inspired by her own family’s immigration journey. As the Legal Assistant in the Merits Department, she supports attorneys in preparing and strengthening clients’ defenses ahead of removal hearings. She is passionately committed to making sure clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the process in both English and Spanish.
As far as education, Alysson holds a double major from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, earning a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Global Studies, with a specialization in
Economics, Trade, and Development in Latin America. Her previous professional experience in the finance industry strengthened their attention to detail and ability to thrive in highly regulated environments, these skills translate seamlessly into immigration law.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with practice in French, Alysson holds dual citizenship in
Ecuador and the United States and has lived in Ecuador for several years. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, dancing and laughing with her friends. Over all, she considers this role a dream job and feels grateful to be able to give back to the community in such a meaningful way.
